The U12s got their season off to a good start with a convincing 14 - 2 win away at Manchester.
The game didn't start to plan with Manchester taking an early lead after just 1 min 7 secs!!! Bradford responded at 2:43 when Lewis Baldwin scored his first goal for the club. Both teams had chances in a very tight first period but Bradford took the lead at 11:56 when Kieran Brown scored a power play goal. 2 - 1 to Bradford at the end of the first.
Bradford came out the stronger team in the second period and were rewarded when Lewis Baldwin hit his second of the evening at 16:34. Manchester scored again at 21:28 to close the gap to just one, however this was to be their last goal of the game as the Bulldogs took control. Brown netted his second of the evening at 23:42 and then his hat trick goal at 26:04. From the resulting face off he went straight to net to get his 4th at 26:11 and hit his fifth goal of the game at 29:16 to give Bradford a comprhensive 7 - 2 lead at the end of the second period.
The Bulldogs started the third period as they had finished the last with Kieran Brown hitting his double hat trick goal on 31:05, with an assist from George-Harry Thornton. Brown netted his seventh at 33:09 and then Bob Boyden his his first goal for the U12s on the power play at 33:36 with an assist from Hollie Armitage. Lewis Baldwin scored his hat trick goal at 36:42 assisted by Brown, who then netted his eight at 38:36 with an assist from Jordan Gill (awarded to Shane Littlewood on game sheet). Brown hit his triple hat trick goal at 39:09 and Lewis Baldwin finished the scoring, hitting Bradfords 14th goal at 44:02.
A good win for the U12s in what was a much harder game than the scoreline suggests. Corey Stones faced 26 shots and had to make some excellent saves. All the players played really well, especially when you consider that it was the first ever U12s game for half the team!
