BRADFORD V COVENTRY U16BRADFORD 1 COVENTRY 1
What a farce, Coventry coach trying to get game cancelled on grounds of health and safety. Game was postponed 40 mins while every conceivable edge between floor and 8' high was wrapped in cotton wool, game delayed further while said gump went round on inspection with digital camera collecting evidence. Total trumped up rubbish same "concerned" coach sent his goalies on to warm up between periods whilst zamboni on Ice and had to be told when he had his players on ice without helmets.
first period started with our favorite ref giving us a 2 min penalty for delaying the game, what ?
In the end we ended up taking on Coventry and the ref, nothing new there then. Bradford played at least one man down for at least 2/3 of the first period vitually all for poor calls or sheer bloody mindedness ?
Goal one came 4 seconds into the second period when Alex Laville scored an even handed goal and beat their goalie with a cracking top corner bottle shot, that was after recovering from a blatant tripping from their D.
Not happy with getting all the calls from the ref Coventry had to add Racially abusive taunts to two of our players, which the ref when advised choose to ignore. The result of one of these incidents saw Bradford 1 man short as Willis sat in the box charged with misconduct.
Coventry managed to equalise during this time.
Bradford came so close to scoring on numerous occasions only to be either tripped when they crossed the blue line or checked from behind at every opportunity. Once again the ref was wearing her selective vision glasses.
4 mins into the last period saw a blatant check into the back of Butler, whilst stood next to the ref, from Coventry's no 15, after the whistle.
This was the final spark, having been taunting Alex and Willis all the game
Mr Muff could take no more and ended up getting 5+10+match. Alex received 5+10+game. Number 15 from Coventry only received a personal 10 mins, however he spat his dummy out, gave the ref vast amounts of verbal and stormed off the rink. If a Bradford player had done that wonder what the ref would have dished out?
This left Bradford defending 3 on 5 for 5 mins.
All was not lost, by now the rink was full with skaters ready to take too the ice, all really enjoying an electric game. the by now 200 strong crowd got behind the three and goalie Matt the mutt. the noise was deafening as Bradford kept the puck virtually out of our zone the whole 5 mins.
Leigh and Chris absolutely skated their socks off up front taking turns to harass Coventry's defense and shoot back to help our D. Superb defensive work from our D, with Butler nailing everybody who came past our bench.
Matt turned out one of his best performances yet and appeared to grow an extra pair of hands.
We weathered the storm but were too worn out to capitalise on the situation and were unable to sneak the puck past their goalie, who in my opinion deserved their MOM.
ABSOLUTELY SUPERB GAME OF HOCKEY.

WELL DONE LADS, LASSES AND COACH. BRILLIANT EFFORT, WE DESERVED TO WIN.
