ENIHL GRIMSBY V BULLDOGS MATCH REPORTGRIMSBY 9 BULLDOGS 6
A trip to Grimsby Ice Rink on a Saturday night isn't everyone's idea of a good night out and so it proved as the Bulldogs went down 9-6. From the start Grimsby came out fired up and pounded the Bradford net with shots. The only restbite was a Aaron Dad goal that got the Bulldogs back into a match they were been compleatly outplayed in. They went in 3-1 down after the first period. Grimsby once again came out flying and caught the Bulldogs cold with quick goals. Aaron Dad scored his second goal of the match with what will proberly be the fluke of the season. The puck rebounded of the felix glass went over the net hit the goalie on the back of the leg and went in. There was more action to come when Matt Viney was tripped and the ref awarded a pentley shot. Viney stood up to take it but the goalie produced a top draw save. It was 6-2 to Grimsby after the second period. The bulldogs up there game in the last period as Josh Stockton got two goals,Matt Viney scored one and Aaron Dad grabbed his hatrick. This was all in vain though as Grimsby scored three themsleves. So a very dissapointing night for the Bulldogs who now can look forward to a tough match at home to Telford next Sunday.
Due to the fact there was no programs or anyone with a microphone i can't give u any stats sorry guys.

Those who playedThe game at Grimsby is always difficult, especially for seniors.
Bradford were penalised by trying to take their own style to a tiny rink. There is just neither time or space to play a stickhandlers game at that rink.
By the third period we were doing as Grimsby and shooting at every opportunity and checking hard inbetween.
The game was much closer than the scoreline suggested, or indeed the foulmouthed Grimsby "supporters" were able to communicate with a limited crude vocabulary that should have been reserved for the deep sea trawlers, preferably from the bottom of a net being dragged along some deep and distant seabed.
The last 20 mins were very exciting and we very nearly became the comeback kids. The final Grimsby goal was a backlash to a final Bradford last seconds push and was scored as the hooter blew.
Had we had anything like a full team turn up then I think the result could have been even closer.
An excellent effort in my eyes to the players that went to Grimsby, thanks. For me I think Jack Oakley had one of the best games I have ever seen him play, well done Jack.
