Prior to Christmas saw Bradford visit our arch Yorkshire Rivals Sheffield for the first meeting of the season. We were without our usual coach who was hitting the slopes (probably quite literally) somewhere in Austria. As a replacement we were burdened with the Chairman of the club as a stand in. Anyone connected with this squad will know the warm heartfelt regard that is held for this member of the committee. It probably stems from those endless hours and hours of “breakout drill” and “if you won’t listen then you’ll skate the rest of the night” many years ago. However despite this and the fact nobody played in the position or line they have ever played in before we came away victors and with everybody in the squad having a good icing.
