U12s v GrimsbyThe U12s played their first home game of the season against a well organised Grimsby team and got off to a good start when new signing Connor Ritchie scored his first goal for the club after just 2 minutes 45 seconds with an assist from Kieran Brown. Bradford continued to put pressure on the grimsby net but couldn't double their lead and were made to pay for missed chances when Grimsby levelled the game at 11:42. 1 - 1 at the end of the 1st period.
Bradford came out for the second period and looked to take control of the game as Kieran Brown scored his first of the evening after just 56 seconds. Brown then scoed short handed at 19:35 and then got his hat trick goal, again short handed, at 20:36. Brown then scored Bradfords 5th at 24:26 and 6th at 29:50. 6 - 1 at the end of the 2nd period.
Grimsby came out strong in the 3rd period and scored their second of the evening at 32:05. Bradford hit back at 33:00 when Brown got his double hat trick goal and and then got his 7th at 38:03 with an assist from George-Harry Thornton. Grimsby pulled one back at 38:30 but Lewis Baldwin got Bradfords 9th at 42:08 with a great solo effort. Grimsby scored their last goal of the game at 42:45 and Brown finished the game off with his 8th goal at 43:21. Final score, Bradford 10 Grimsby 4.
A great game with some good hockey played by both teams. Thanks to Paul for doing a great job on the mic and providing the music which made for a much better atmosphere. Just a pity the Grimsby parents couldn't do thier players credit, applauding and jeering Bradford mistakes is not my idea of sportsmanship!
